Lagos Welcomes 2025: Join the Greater Lagos Countdown Celebration
The Greater Lagos Countdown is organized annually by the Ministry and the Lagos State Government. It will take place at five key locations across the state:
- Ikorodu: Ikorodu Town Hall
- Epe: Epe Recreation Centre
- Ikeja: Agege Stadium
- Badagry: Badagry Grammar School
- Lagos Island: Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), featuring a main stage with top music artists.
Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, the Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, described the event as a unique celebration that brings Lagosians together and showcases the city’s cultural diversity. The event, which includes music, dance, food, and fireworks, celebrates the dynamic spirit of Lagos. Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka assured the public that strong security measures are in place to ensure everyone’s safety and invited both residents and tourists to join the festivities as Lagos welcomes 2025.
This free event is open to all, but registration is required to secure your spot. The night will feature fireworks and live performances from top African artists, including Badoo, OBO, African Giant, Big Wiz, Tiwa Savage, and many more.
